How to play it
A Shadow deck that starts slowly and wins late in the game. Every card raises the critical chance, turn after turn, until almost every hit is one.
Vivy is the card that hits. Wave of Darkness deals 40 Shadow and 1 to 40 Light, and adds 20% critical to Vivy with each cast: every three turns, she lands critical hits, which double the damage, a little more often. With the Brutal talent, her attacks ignore resistances, shields and Taunts, and destroy the shields and Taunts of the cards they hit: your opponent cannot steer her away from her target.
Ashtarae Lycaria lifts the whole team. Melody No. 1, cast every turn, deals 15 to 25 Shadow and adds 2% critical to all your cards. Melody No. 2 heals for 15 to 25. Resurrection, for 5 Shadow points, brings back the last destroyed allied card with half its max HP: keep it for Vivy. Her Heart of Steel talent raises her resistances by 1% each time she is attacked.
Shadow King takes the hits and supplies the Shadow. With 1,000 HP he is the toughest card of the deck, and the Focus talent gives him a one-in-four chance each turn to gain Taunt, drawing the hits away from Vivy and Catixy. His Punching Bag earns him 1 Shadow point for each attack he takes, and Dark Choice adds some in one go: 1 to 20, 5 to 15 or 8 to 12, your choice. Blade-O deals 30 to 50 Shadow every three turns.
Catixy heals. With the Inversion talent, her damage turns into healing: Mewling, cast every turn, heals for 4 to 16 instead of hitting, and adds 5% critical to Catixy each time. A critical Mewling multiplies the effect by four: the longer the game goes, the bigger her heals. Every two turns, Sinister Charm gives 25% critical to one of your cards picked at random.
For Tox, buy Berserk first, which raises the damage and healing of all your cards by 12% (up to 100% as a legendary), then Shadowheart, which adds 1 Shadow point per turn. Ashtarae Lycaria is legendary and Shadow King epic: without them, play a card that fills the same role, a healer or a tough card.
