How to play it
A Shadow deck that stalls, then wins in a single turn. Everything revolves around Final Night, Nocturnal Watcher’s attack: when it goes off, the cooldowns of all your cards drop by 3, your attacks come right back, and the chain that follows can destroy the enemy cards one by one. Until then, you have to hold on and build up Shadow.
Nocturnal Watcher is the key. Final Night, every 9 turns, applies Temporality three times to all your allied cards, and each Temporality reduces their cooldowns by 1. Tenebr’heal deals 40 Shadow, adds 3 Shadow points and heals the Watcher through Vampirism; Shadowcleave deals 10 to 30 Shadow and 10 to 30 Nature. His Revaluation talent earns him 5 more Spamtons per turn. Cast your Tenebr’heals as soon as they are ready: they will be ready again on the turn of Final Night, which brings them straight back.
Catixy heals. With the Inversion talent, her damage turns into healing: Mewling, cast every turn, heals for 4 to 16 and adds 5% critical to Catixy, and a critical hit multiplies the effect by four. Every two turns, Sinister Charm gives 25% critical to one of your cards picked at random. Against a deck that hits little and stalls too, take the Critical talent instead, which adds 10% critical: Catixy then hits instead of healing.
Shado, Abyssal Scourge holds the line. He starts with Ancient Healing, which gives him back 4% of his max HP every turn, and AoE, which hits and heals the adjacent cards for 20% of the damage dealt: his Tenebr’heal, the same as the Watcher’s, therefore also heals Catixy and Nocturnal Watcher, placed on either side of him. With the Evolution talent, these two Tox rise in rarity when his HP drops below 75%, 50% and 25%: the more hurt he is, the more he heals, up to 19% of his max HP per turn and 100% of the damage with AoE. He sometimes ends the game as the last card standing.
Codex of Ancient Woes supplies the Shadow: Dark Script, cast every turn, adds Shadow points, and its base value grows by 1 with each cast. It starts with Immunity, which makes it immune to the effects of enemy cards, and its F/W-Shield talent gives it 25% resistance to Fire and Water. It is the card that carries the Tox serving the whole team. Place your cards in the deck’s order: Catixy, Shado, Nocturnal Watcher, Codex.
For Tox, start with Heart Resistance on the Codex, which raises the resistances of all your cards by 3 every turn. Multiplier doubles the effect of Shadow bonuses on the damage of Shado and the Watcher, or on Catixy’s healing, and Optimization pushes Catixy’s heals to their maximum. Berserk adds 12% damage and healing to all your cards, and Shadowheart 1 Shadow point per turn: put them on the Codex, along with Lucky, which raises your Luck by 0.5 per turn, and with it your chances of finding rare Tox in the shop before Final Night. Brutal, on Shado or the Watcher, lets the Tenebr’heals go through resistances, shields and Taunts, and Reset keeps an attack that destroys an enemy card available.
To go further, put Avenger on Nocturnal Watcher instead of Shadowcleave: each time a card he did not destroy dies, he gets all his attacks back, Final Night included. If Shado destroys a card during the chain, the Watcher casts Final Night again and it all starts over.
The deck fears Eternity, which lengthens its cooldowns and delays Final Night; decks that hit hard from the first turns, before its healing gets going; and Fire decks that focus their hits on a single card. Nocturnal Watcher is legendary and the Codex epic: without them, the deck loses its plan.
